Odds and Ends

I am still blogging from the library so my posts are much to be desired.  I'm just posting the bare minimum with mostly pictures, so here are some odds and ends pictures of the last month's activities.

First worn out pair of shoes for Michael.  This boy plays hard!

My beautiful peonies that are in bloom right now

Michael hates getting his face wet when getting a bath (it's a challenge to wash his hair) but recently he started to pour water over his head on his own, and laughs and laughs as he does it.

Afternoon nap

Hope to post after the fourth of July.  Our good friends from Indiana are coming to visit for the fourth.  We are looking so forward to seeing them!

Camping in the Rain

Each year my sister and her family camp for a week just outside the infamous Door County area, so this year my parents, Michael and I joined them for a day.  This campground has a beautiful swimming area with slide and all, so my nieces and nephews had a blast swimming even though it was raining off and on and was only about 65 degrees!  Michael, of course, had to be part of the swimming, so here are some pictures from the day.  I didn't pack his swimsuit or lifejacket because I thought it was going to be too cold, but he was adamant the he be part of the fun.  So my ever prepared sister-in-law came to the rescue with a pair of swimmers!

Look at those long eyelashes!

Eating at the campfire

The day before our camping excursion, we were at my parents playing outside and it started to rain a tremendous downpour, and I coaxed Michael to run out into the rain, and he did without no hesitation.

Rainy Days

The first day of summer came and went with lots of rain and temps in the low 60s.  It feels like spring here instead of summer...although the nice cool days are tolerable...Spring wouldn't arrive in April and May and now summer won't arrive either.

With all of the rain, we had some trouble yesterday with water in our basement.  Now if you know the Creels, water and us just don't get along.  It rained so hard that we had water coming in through the window well in the basement where my washer and dryer are...come to find out, our gutters were completely plugged with maple leaf seeds, branches, tree pollen...you name it.  So we had some cleaning out to do in the rain....

Michael enjoyed playing outside in the rain as well.....

The rain was much needed....later in the week we found out rain came into our family room through a closet that got the carpeting wet....ugh.

Checking In

I'm posting from the local library public computer (bummer).  We've been busy unpacking and doing home renovations, so we've been extremely busy.  I can't believe the first week of June is almost gone.  We actually had two very hot 90 degree days here, but it is supposed to cool off for the weekend.

Here are some of the latest pictures of our growing boy....

We grilled out this past weekend (bbq'd chicken wings) and Michael loved to eat the chicken off the bone.

This is what Michael's face looks like almost every night at bath time....only a dirty face a mother could love!

Orange roses (my favorite color) as an anniversary gift from my husband...we celebrated 13 years of marriage this week

Playing with the water hose for the first time this summer in 90 degree heat.  He had a blast!  I had a blast watching him!

Our woods is full of wild flowers of all different kinds.  They are not all out at the same time, but their beauty amazes me.  Every week there seems to be a new flower appearing, and it's been fun to see what perennials are appearing in my flower gardens from the previous owner.  We absolutely love it out here...it is so peaceful and beautiful, and it's still hard for me to realize that this is our place!  I don't miss the city at all....just the friends that we made there.  And it is so nice to be closer to family.  I didn't realize how much I missed that until I moved back home.

Hope everyone is well....and I'll post again sometime soon as time permits.  If you are looking for a northwoods getaway this summer, let us know...we'd be glad to have visitors!
